Throughout my career I have always practiced techniques that have heart, are simple, and get immediate results. Self Care meets all those criteria.

Self Care is the action that connects us to our hearts. The current model of acute care is drugs and surgery. The way in alternative medicine is the path back to the spirit of all healthcare - self care.

The book available on this page provides immediate ways to employ high levels of self care. Using this book and the other teaching methods found throughout this site will provide you with a complete understanding of health in daily life


SELF CARE TECHNIQUES

The following is a list of terms concerning various Self Care Techniques that I strongly recommend you learn to use.

RELAXATION: - a lessening of tension. Pain begins to leave spontaneously as a release.


IMAGERY: -
A picture the brain creates to communicate feelings, perception and body responses. Imagery has the capacity to heal uncontrollable fear and anger, initiate transformational healing changes, and bring body response to rest and activity patterns rather than fight or flight patterns in the nervous system.

MEDITATION: - Restoring mind to fresh , joyous and rejuvenated state. Quieting the mind using mantra, awareness, or movement.


BREATHING: -
Inhalation of air and exhalation of carbon monoxide. The physiology of breathing informs us that deep breathing into the lower lobes is the only way we get oxygen into the blood. Restoring, exercising and purifying breathing techniques stand as the most important self care that can ever be performed.


BODY AWARENESS: -
Giving time to honor your relationship with yourself. Breathing, yoga, stretching, dancing, walking, create a ritual for space and time to be with you. Know the nervous system, liver, lungs etcetera. Stay in touch with aired daily oil massage instructions.

These are only a few easy, pleasant, and effective ways back to high levels of self care.

LOOK AT STRESS SQUARE IN THE EYE

Stress is the energy production system in the body that fuels life. We can use that energy in unbelievable creative ways that feed us rather than stop us from living exciting healthy happy lives.

Look at three syndromes that will STOP you from acting in healthy ways in your life.

1. Inhibition syndrome, called fight or flight.
Even more serious Freeze Mode -Cannot make a decision, often feel frightened and angry. The chemistry of the body increases the adrenalin, blood pressure, breathing, and decreases the large intestine activity. The body is stuck in stress mode.

2. Feel overwhelming helplessness and use avoidance as main way to relate to people and issues.

3. Feel in threatened state. Cannot get out of Post-traumatic Stress
disorder state.

Medical Science proves these states exist by measuring levels of Cortisol, Blood sugar , and insulin which are both above normal levels in stressful moments. Worst yet the immune system goes down at the same time. Increases in cholesterol levels occur at this time. Self Care addresses moment to moment regulation. It works.
