Kapha Imbalance

Kapha is synonymous with thick characteristics of the body. The easiest to understand would be mucus. The most common site of mucus production in the body is the stomach. When people come in with a mucus-sinus congestion I ask them "Where is mucus primarily produced in the body?" They all say they don't know. It is important if you are a body owner to know mucus is produced in the stomach ... other places also, but primarily the stomach.

Kapha is the energy that produces imbalances in the mucus of the body. Too much kapha will create heavy infected mucus. Too much mucus will circulate and lodge in the cavities and spaces of the body.

Symptoms indicating Kapha Imbalance:
• Coughs
• Congestion
• Breathlessness
• Nausea
• Excess saliva
• Heavy digestion feels slow
• Excessive hunger
• Weight gain
• Tumors
• Bronchial asthma
• Hay fever
• Diabetes
• Chronic gastrointestinal disorders
